Bigger Isn't Always Better

I started Mobal Solutions in 1996 while working as a freelance computer trainer specialising in Microsoft Office applications. The mid to late nineties were the boom time for computer training companies, and many were losing sight of the individual needs of their clients in their rush to pull in more and more business. Until the day of training, clients often only had contact with sales people who had little or no knowledge of the training on offer. All too often specific requirements weren't passed on to the trainers, and the lack of communication resulted in problems and frustration on all sides.

Always In Touch

In keeping my business small, it's always been my aim to deal with all aspects of client requirements myself - from the initial inquiry, through training needs analysis and designing courseware, to delivering the training. In this way I ensure that my clients always receive the very best service. If a need arises - such as large contracts or specialised applications - I do also have a small team of associates to call on whose skills and experience I know I can rely on.

Tuition At Home

While delivering training to business clients, I'm often asked if I provide home tuition as well, and so another side of my business has developed. In the summer of 2010 I launched The Reluctant Mouse, concentrating on a more relaxed one-to-one style, often working with older people who are completely new to computers. My home clients comment particularly on my patience and good humour (and I take my hat off to them as they enthusiastically embrace the new technology!).

In The Community

It has long been a wish of mine to take computer tuition out into the community, and at the end of 2009 I was very excited to team up with Fleet Library and Hampshire Learning to provide public classes within Fleet Library. These have proved hugely popular and successful, and have been great fun for all involved.
